H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General, delivered a speech on behalf of UAE Delegation during the official opening of GITEX Africa 2024 which was attended by His Excellency Aziz Akhannouch, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco, and H.E Dr Ghita Mezzour, the Moroccan Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform.
As part of the city’s participation, the Dubai Pavilion will showcase more than 25 advanced digital projects and initiatives presented by 9 entities from Dubai. The goal is to highlight the role of these projects in enhancing digital city experiences and consolidating Dubai’s position as a global pioneering city in this field.
Dubai’s participation at the 2nd GITEX Africa, which was kicked off today and runs until May 31st, gathers 9 government entities including Digital Dubai, Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Economy and Tourism, Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Customs, the Security Industry Regulatory Agency, and DP World.
H.E Al Mansoori said: “The UAE's relations with Morocco have evolved and become increasingly prominent and entrenched over the years, it gives an example in the fraternal relationship based on sustainable cooperation and coordination in the common interest for both sides”.
“Morocco's experience of modernity and digital transformation over the years have gained increasing attention every day by the determination of this country and its insistence on securing an advanced position among nations, benefitting from its ancient heritage and national competencies characterized by intelligence and advanced skills. Above all, Morocco has a global vision that was evident in hosting of GITEX Africa for the second consecutive year. This event serves as a modern twin to GITEX Dubai, the global and prestigious event, helping Marrakesh to become Dubai’s twin in its aspiration for a bright human future based on harnessing the latest technologies to serve people everywhere.” H.E. added
Regarding the participation, H.E. stated: “The Dubai Pavilion at GITEX Africa 2024 is an embodiment of the state of integration and coordination of roles between government entities in Dubai, which work together in order to achieve the vision and directives of the wise leadership aiming at making Dubai a global hub for digital transformation.”
“We share the same path, and carry the same message, we want to contribute actively in transforming the region and the world to the fourth industrial revolution and artificial intelligence. We want to develop modern strategies for the future and establish for more collaboration and more engagement, all these efforts have a noble goal which is “the human being”. H.E concluded.
Government entities’ Services:
The list of services that will be showcased at the Dubai Pavilion include “Invest in Dubai” an interactive platform by DET dedicated for investors. On its behalf, Dubai Civil Defense will shed the light on many initiatives such as Eco Readiness and Dubai Civil Defense Readiness. The event will also witness DEWA’s projects including Smart Office, Smart Grid, Mobile App, Website in addition to Dubai Digital Clouds, Cybersecurity Services, Managed Services, Professional Services.
Dubai Municipality will also showcase services related to the building and construction sector including “Build in Dubai” a unified electronic platform designed to provide all services and information covering all needs and desires related to construction activities in Dubai. The platform is the latest electronic system for construction that has been developed to organize, simplify, and facilitate the customers journey using the latest technologies and software supported by Building Information Modelling and E-Checking. The other service is “Providing Geographical Data also known as the “Digital Twin Of Dubai” which is a digital representation of the emirate of Dubai through the use of 2D and 3D maps, representing all assets of the emirates from buildings to road assets in one single geospatial digital twin.
DP World will showcase the Dubai Trade website, a portfolio of smart services includeing marine services, manifest and cargo handling services, cargo clearance and haulage services, invoicing and payment services, and free zone services.
Joining other entities, Dubai Police will showcase both Dubai Police Application and Dubai Police Website, while Dubai Customs will shed the light on its 4th Generation Services including AlMunasiq, Robot Automation Processing for Post Clearance Audit, and Cross Border eCommerce solution in addition to the Comprehensive Customs Solution (Mirsal) which is an integrated customs solution for managing customs operations to facilitate cargo clearance procedures and risk management, using latest technologies and best international practices.
Lastly, the Security Industry Regulatory Authority (SIRA) will present the Call Center Avatar service which is a cutting-edge solution designed to enhance customer service and support interactions in call centers, and the Legal Advisor Chatbot an AI-powered conversational tool designed to provide security information and guidance to users.
The event will witness the participation of 130 countries and will work to enhance international exchanges and collaborations, enhancing its position and role to become a major platform for innovation and economic development in Africa.
