REGULATIONS
Dubai is the world’s first city where the sharing of data is mandated by law. At Dubai Data, we set the stage for seamless data sharing between stakeholders by translating regulations into polices, checklists and toolkits that help our public sector partners comply. Our goal is to demystify the data regulation framework, and create an ecosystem where data can be shared securely, effectively and for maximum benefit.
The Dubai Data Law
Our data journey started with Dubai Data Law in 2015, which made Dubai the first city to mandate the sharing, use and reuse of data. This was followed by a Law establishing the Digital Dubai Data in 2016.

The ODC was created to suggest a data strategy, roadmap and law for opening data in the Emirate of Dubai

Dubai Data Law
The Dubai Data Law established a framework for exchange of Dubai Data
2015 September
Dubai Data Manual
The first Dubai Data Manual was released with initial policies and guidance for preparing Entity Data for publication

Smart Dubai Data was formed with the mandate to implement Dubai Data Law
