Dubai Data Law
Defines the general framework for the publication and exchange of data as well as the duties of Smart Dubai Data and the obligations of Data Providers
Our data journey started with Dubai Data Law in 2015, which made Dubai the first city to mandate the sharing, use and reuse of data. This was followed by a Law establishing the Digital Dubai Data in 2016.
Our goal is to help our stakeholders leverage seamless and trusted exchange of data. We’ve expanded the spirit of the Dubai Data Law into Dubai Data Policies to help you classify, publish, exchange, use and reuse data.

The Dubai Data Policies contain a series of Data Manuals and Data Standards to help your organization comply with the Dubai Data Law. The standards cover most elements of data use, governance and sharing.
How do you get your organisation compliant with the Dubai Data Law, its standards and its policies?
We’ve made the process simple by creating a compliance framework. The framework gives your organisation measurable elements. It scores your organisation against 9 criteria and is based on the mandate of the Dubai Data Law, the policies derived from it, and the standards set out in our data manuals.
