The Community Development Authority in Dubai has announced the launch of the eighth Social Survey for the Emirate of Dubai, in collaboration with the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, part of Digital Dubai. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to monitor the social landscape through field research, focusing on understanding the living conditions of Emirati households, resident families, collective households, and labor accommodations. It also aims to evaluate services, programs, and policies implemented across various social sectors impacting these groups. The survey seeks to provide comprehensive data that accurately reflects the social realities within the emirate.
Saeed Ahmed Al Tayer, CEO of the Social Development Sector at the Community Development Authority, said: "The Dubai Social Survey represents a significant step in enhancing our understanding of social realities and accurately identifying the needs of our society. Our partnership with the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment underscores our shared commitment to leveraging data and statistics as strategic tools for informed decision-making and for shaping comprehensive policies that benefit individuals and families across the emirate."
He further emphasized: "Previous social surveys have demonstrated their crucial role in guiding community development efforts. Their findings have shaped social programs, initiatives, and policies that align with community aspirations and our strategic goals. With this survey, we aim to evaluate the impact of digital transformation on quality of life and provide actionable insights to support the objectives of Dubai Social Agenda 33, which focuses on enhancing happiness and well-being for all segments of society."
H.E Afaf Buosaiba, CEO of the Data & Statistics Operations Sector at the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, remarked: "The survey highlights the importance of intergovernmental partnerships in achieving higher objectives, particularly the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which seeks to ensure the highest levels of happiness for families and the best standards of living across various domains. The initiative reflects our mutual commitment to harnessing statistical and digital data to support decision-making and future planning. In the era of digital transformation, data stands as our most valuable asset, enabling us to analyze the present and anticipate the future to build effective strategies."
"Given the significant impact of this survey, we encourage families to participate actively and provide accurate, comprehensive responses to the questions. We assure participants that all collected data will be used strictly for evaluation and development purposes, adhering to the highest standards of privacy and confidentiality as mandated by applicable laws and regulations." Buosaiba added.
This marks the eighth social survey launched by the Community Development Authority in partnership with the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment. The survey underscores both entities' commitment to leveraging data to provide an accurate representation of the social landscape, aiding decision-makers in designing programs that address the diverse needs of society and align with the emirate's strategic priorities.
The survey aims to establish a robust database on the social landscape, guiding the development of strategies, programs, and policies. Objectives include understanding societal needs and opinions, evaluating the effects of policies and programs, and assessing the influence of digitization on quality of life. Additionally, the survey seeks to measure living conditions across all demographic groups in Dubai, evaluate the performance indicators of the Dubai Strategic Plan for the Social Sector, and gauge public familiarity with digital skills.
The survey will be conducted through field visits and personal interviews, targeting a sample size of 5,100 families across Dubai, encompassing Emirati and non-Emirati families, collective families, and workers’ gatherings. The data collection process will run from December 17, 2024, to March 4, 2025.
