Digital Dubai has concluded another successful participation at the 42nd GITEX Global 2022, where it organized the main pavilion of the Dubai Government that brought together 40 government and private entities.

The Dubai Government platform welcomed an unparalleled number of attendees and visitors, with its projects and initiatives getting attention from visitors and leaders in the technology sector, who sought to learn about the developments made on existing projects, in addition to exploring the new ones. This included Digital Dubai’s affiliate entities, namely: Dubai Electronic Security Center, Dubai Statistics Center, Dubai Data Establishment, and the Smart Dubai Government Establishment.

His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, said: “This is truly a special edition of GITEX Global, given that it is the first one we have had in the second 50 years of the UAE’s history. Digital Dubai and its partners have showcased their future aspirations, presenting advanced technologies, solutions, and initiatives that piqued the interest of large crowds of visitors. Once again, we conclude a new stage in our journey towards digitalizing all aspects of life in Dubai; we move forward guided by the directives of our wise leadership, and inspired by the accumulated experiences of our people, towards a new stage where we reformulate the concepts of digital transformation and establish Dubai’s position as an inspiring global success story.”

“Digital Dubai’s successful participation in the event, where we accomplished the objectives we set out to achieve, came as an inevitable result of the tireless efforts made by all government and private entities participating in the Dubai Government platform, as well as by the Digital Dubai team,” H.E. added. “This reaffirms the importance of teamwork to move forward with and accelerate digital transformation. I am grateful to all our partners in this pavilion, and I am confident that next year will see another leap forward on the path to achieving our higher goals.”

During its participation at GITEX Global 2022, Digital Dubai announced a set of new projects and announcements, including releasing the results of the Digital Skills Employer Survey, which is the first and largest of its kind in the sector, designed to determine current and future demand for digital skills in the digital economy of the city of Dubai. The survey canvassed 15,812 ICT employees across 17 different economic sectors from 522 institutions in Dubai.

Digital Dubai also launched the Synthetic Data Framework, with the aim of helping organizations adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technology and develop solutions and services using synthetic data in analysis and machine learning processes, instead of real data, which may involve a violation of privacy.

It was also announced that visitors would be able to register in the UAE PASS secure and unified national digital identity service, launched as a joint initiative between the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, Digital Dubai, and the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority.

On another note, Digital Dubai signed a partnership agreement with the Directorate General of Civil Defense in Dubai to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two entities, and play a part in achieving Dubai’s vision and consolidating its position as a global digital capital, by digitalizing government services, driving digital transformation, and ensuring cybersecurity.

Digital Dubai went on to showcase projects launched by the Dubai Electronic Security Center, including the Dubai Electronic Security Index and the ‘Al Kashif’ service, in addition to projects by the Dubai Cyber Innovation Park, and the Digital Skills Framework. The platform also featured initiatives from the Dubai Data Establishment, including Synthetic Data, Data Maturity Index, Data Intelligence Dashboards, and the future of the data market in Dubai.

Projects by the Smart Dubai Government Establishment were also displayed; these included: the DubaiNow application, Smart Employee app, Learning Management System, the Government Resources Planning Systems, the Smart Supplier service, UAE PASS, and the Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS). Meanwhile, the Dubai Statistics Center presented upgrades to its Opinion Polls Portal, and its Statistical Intelligence project, which consists of models from various data-based studies, in addition to its Web Scraping project.

Digital Dubai’s agenda for GITEX also included a series of seminars and workshops, while other government and private entities participating in the Digital Dubai platform presented the latest digital projects and services, launched with the aim of facilitating life in the city and supporting Dubai’s progress towards a comprehensive and integrated digital life in the emirate.
