The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, in collaboration with Digital Dubai, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, Dubai Health Authority, and the Insurance Pool, have launched the “Domestic Workers Bundle” on the DubaiNow app, the unified digital platform for individual services city services. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to deliver integrated digital services that streamline and expedite government transactions, enhancing user convenience and accessibility.
This package marks a significant advancement in service delivery, aiming to streamline and expedite processes for issuing, renewing, and cancelling the residencies of domestic workers in the UAE. Additionally, it encompasses medical examination services and facilitates the completion of the UAE PASS transactions, offering a seamless and efficient user experience.
H.E. Khalil Ibrahim Al Khoori, MoHRE’s Undersecretary of Labour Market and Emiratisation Operations said: “Expanding the UAE labour package on the DubaiNow platform to include domestic labour services highlights the efficiency and speed in launching government services. It reflects the spirit of integration and partnership between government entities and their commitment to adopting the city’s digital transformation strategy. This also aligns with the objectives of the ‘Zero Government Bureaucracy’ initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This vision is rooted in prioritizing customer happiness and enhancing their service experiences, in line with the UAE’s global competitiveness and leadership across all sectors, particularly in government services.”
His Excellency further elaborated: “The UAE’s sustainable and advanced technological infrastructure plays a pivotal role in supporting the development of services and enhancing customer satisfaction. By fostering innovation in government services and enabling the delivery of proactive, customer-centric solutions, we are advancing a vision that places the customer at the heart of our efforts. The successful collaboration among partners in launching the domestic workers package has significantly streamlined processes, reducing procedures by 77% across various services, minimizing required visits by 63%, and cutting completion times by 83%, ensuring a seamless and efficient customer journey.”
For his part, His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, stated: “We are proud to be part of this pioneering initiative aimed at advancing digital transformation in the UAE. This package plays a pivotal role in simplifying the process of accessing domestic worker services. The number of service channels has been streamlined from four to one, centralized on the DubaiNow application. Additionally, the process steps have been reduced from 12 to just 4, cutting the required visits from 8 to only 2. The time to complete transactions has significantly decreased from 30 days to just 5 days, and the required documents have been minimized from 10 to 4. These enhancements have collectively contributed to reducing the transaction cost by AED 400, making the process more efficient, accessible, and cost-effective.
Customers can now seamlessly access residency services for domestic workers through the DubaiNow application. The process involves filling out a unified form for the service package, entering the domestic worker’s details, along with their ID and passport information. The employment contract is signed electronically via the app, followed by the worker’s medical examination. The examination results are submitted directly through the application, leading to the issuance of the Emirates ID and residency. This streamlined process ensures the residency issuance is completed smoothly and efficiently.
